is it ok to use large black ants for a gel ant farm? or do i have to use the red harvester ants? what is the difference? if i have to use the red ones, what should i use to attract only red harvester ants?
and do i need a queen? the queen sounds kinds tough to take care of, and what am i going to do with the thousands of eggs that might hatch? its not for a school projects, i just want something to top my desk! thanx!

Hey guys! I’ve been really addicted to the ant gel
farms lately, and they are turning out to be a bit TOO costly.
And they rarely sell them anymore!
So I was wondering if you guys know a site
where you can earn points and get a free gel ant farm for
the points or which store sells ant farms for SURE.

i was looking at the new gel ant farm thing and i thought that it would seem possible to make one with jello
any suggestions?

I captured maybe 15 black ants from my back yard its been a week or two and they still haven’t started tunneling is there a way that I can encourage them to dig or should I just be patient? My ant farm is home made it is not a gel ant farm and I filled with dirt from my back yard

I got a "Gel Ant Farm" yesterday. It’s pretty cool. But many of them are dieing, and I’m supposed to clean them out. But they are red. They bit my mom today because one accidentally escaped. And I’m scared to clean it without getting bitten. They can escape easily because they can climb on the sides. So how do I keep the lid open without letting the ants out?
