How do you find the heartrate of a daphnia?

I have heard all these experiments of ______ effecting the heart rate of daphnia. How can you actually find their heartrate if they are soooo little? do you look at them under the microscope and you can just see it?

Actually their bodies are translucent so you should be able to see their heart beating under a simple light microscope. You would probably have to visually measure their heart rate since it would be extremely difficult to mount electrodes on them to measure the electrical activity of their heart.

maybe. they aren't THAT little. you probably just record it w/ a camera and slow it down.
